PRSSA

The Public Relations Student Society of America is the most well-respected, student-run public relations organization in the country. Currently, there are more than 8,000 members and over 248 chapters throughout the U.S. In 1985, Todd Hunt, SCILS professor emeritus, founded the Rutgers University chapter of PRSSA.

PRSSA’s goal is to give students an edge within the increasingly competitive field of public relations and further enrich their skills. Through PRSSA, members get the opportunity to participate in professional development workshops, meet prominent PR professionals and network with both peers and industry executives.

The Todd Hunt chapter’s mission is to serve its members and the public relations profession by enhancing students’ access to professional development opportunities and developing highly qualified, well-prepared, young professionals. The executive board is dedicated to helping the organization’s members grow and thrive in various ways. In doing so, we have established our very own student-run PR firm, ScarletPR.

ScarletPR

ScarletPR is a student-run Public Relations firm founded and maintained by members of Rutgers PRSSA. With help from Professors with real-world experience, and the skills learned from our member’s past involvement, we apply this knowledge to serve the PR needs of local New Brunswick businesses. As a result, we provide valuable hands-on experience similar to the type of involvement one would need when applying for their first internship.
